Featured question: Why is plastic pollution an environmental problem?
Carbon Dioxide equivalent is a measure of how much a gas contributes to global warming, relative to Carbon Dioxide.
The Carbon Dioxide equivalent is calculated by multiplying the mass of the gas by its Global Warming Potential (GWP). See “What Is Global Warming Potential?” (OneSharedEarth, 2020) for more information about GWP.
Also known as CO2 equivalent or CO2-eq or CO2E or CO2e.
